Mold Inspection
How it works
Our mold inspection process starts way before we even get to your house. We first study the area in question to see whether factors such as humidity and water condensation are common in the area. This enables us to pre-empt any pre-existing factors that could point towards the probability of a mold infestation.
Once we get to the property in question our first task is to de-brief the client. This is where we listen to the client and ask questions such as: have they spotted mold growth anywhere, do they have a moisture/flooding problem, etc.
After the debriefing we get to work. We carry out a visual inspection to look for signs of mold growth on the property. We also look for the all-too-common musty odor/smell of mold. Other factors that we look for include dampness, signs of water condensation, and signs of rising damp. In many cases we use special tools such as humidity detectors, mold testing samples, and thermal imaging cameras to detect wet and moist areas, especially those that are hidden away from plain sight, such as behind walls or underneath floors.
Once the inspection is complete, we take photos and map out all the areas that contain mold. We then show these areas to the client and explain what is happening to each site, as well as what is causing the infestation.
Lastly, we compile a report where we expound on our findings. This report also contains professional advice on how the infestation should be remediated fully and safely.
